Who we Are
Citizens Action to Rebuild La Gonave (CARLG) is a non-profit organization working towards the revitalization of La Gonave, an island located off the western coast of Haiti. Our mission is to empower the people of La Gonave and the wider Haitian community to take ownership of their own development, and create a sustainable and modern infrastructure that serves as a blueprint for other communities.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving modern community on La Gonave where people can live, work and learn in safety, security, and prosperity. Our goal is to build a place where the people of La Gonave take pride in their community, where the best and brightest minds are attracted, and where healthcare is accessible to all. We see a community that serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the rest of Haiti and the world, a place where people come together to make a difference and build a better future for all.
La Gonave was selected as the location for the CARLG project due to its need for revitalization and the opportunity to serve as a shining example for other communities. The island has long been in need of improvement and the CARLG project aims to empower its citizens to take ownership of their own development and create a thriving, modern community. The establishment of a modern university and state-of-the-art hospital on La Gonave will not only improve the lives of those on the island, but also serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the rest of Haiti and the world.

The main beneficiaries of the CARLG project are the citizens of La Gonave, as it will provide them with access to education, healthcare and modern infrastructure. The project will also attract the best and brightest minds to study and work on the island, contributing to the overall growth and development of the community. Additionally, Haitians in the diaspora and tourists visiting Haiti will also benefit from the hospital's resources and services.
